A new software update is now available!

With this release we have broaden the number of servers the watch is using to retrieve assisted data.
This is going to add consistency to the time to first fix and the accuracy results already achieved with the previous release (1.7.17):

Please note:
Remember to turn off and on the watch after the software update.
The new software update will be out shortly.

I think I successfully got the update. Hard to tell, as my watch is now bricked. I can't turn it off. It just displays the Leikr logo screen. I suppose it will continue to do that till it runs out of power.
The update downloaded like previous ones have done, installed in the same manner, and so on. I cycled the power off then on again, and that's where the trouble started.

Things continue to improve, I still note difficulties on some runs in urban areas

comparing yesterdays run (http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/271291974/8417598) to todays run (http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/271613735/8417598) - there is a significant issue yesterday with signal loss causing the track to zig zag and add extra distance, yet today in the same place the track is smooth and the distance is exactly the same as mike Nike GPS watch

TTFF remains excellent, I do not that the watch vibrates to indicate fix, the display shows 4+ satellites but if I walk no pace is shown for 20-30 seconds

I had some pretty good runs with very good accuracy after the last update, but something really strange happened today:
I wasn't running for the last seven days and I had fully charged the Leikr a couple of days ago.
When I turned the Leikr on, the GPS module crashed and only displayed "--" next to the clock.
I had to power-cycle the watch 6 times to get the GPS module to life again, the other 5 times it immediately crashed again.
After The GPS module was back online and the clock was visible I wanted to start my run, but only got 4-6 satellites for half a second and then they were gone again, back to 0.
That happened a couple of times and then I just started my run.

I already adjusted the KM, but it counted 48km in 37min, all over Hamburg. None of those point is anywhere on the route I was running, I live in Wilhelmsburg, a little south of Hamburg.
The GPS Signal always came back intermittently, but this was worse than not getting a signal at all.
The starting point was next to my appartment where I start all of my runs and usually don't have a problem at all.

your watch seem to have issues that we can fix remotely, please write a mail to Leirkteam@acornprojects.dk, title "GPS crash". Very sorry that now you got a bad experience after a good raw of good one. Soon we will be back on track.
@jedjunk: tank you for your feedback: to your point, the initial seconds are used to calculate the pace/ speed over a moving window, and they depend on speed.

Since the last SW update the Leikr has been massive improved but still some way to go
good things first
getting GPS fix faster then ever and doing my entire run form 6 to 10 satt. today i was running 18 km with pace setters pase 5.20 i my Leikr show 5.17 so perfect.

but
doing my run today if i look at the time sometimes it stops and the go on again without pushing any thing on the watch and the pace show all from 2.36 till 5.39
doing the race even if i was follow the pace setters on 5.20 hmmm
and when i get back and see the history it tell
[Time = 36. min 29 sek
Speed 40.8
Distance 18 km 34. meters
Pace 5.17
only pace and distance seams to be right
and once again time is jumping doing the run and by the way I have turn auto pause on my watch but when i have stoped it keeps running maybe you should and Tempo selection to the auto pause like Garmin have so if you are below maybe 10 km then it will stop
any thing you can do with a update or is my Leikr fuked up

keep up the good work and looking forward to see more improvement and looking forward to get more life than 4 hours batt.

Sorry for the bad experience on your last run, really crappy.
Looking at your last reports, it looks like your device needs some remote maintenance, please send us a mail to Leikrteam@acornprojects.dk. Please put your serial number in the header of the mail.
Specifically, regarding the reporting from the 1st: the speed in history has a bug and will be fixed in the next software release.
