Cris,

What assisted GPS are you talking about? Since when does Leikr have assisted GPS? Assisted GPS is using GSM along with GPS, so you if you are saying it has AGPS you are wrong.

P.S. I keep thinking it was a big mistake getting this device and supporting the Leikr project. I had problems iwth my first and and had it replaced, but using the second one is just as much a pain. It adds so much jitter to my workouts, that it should not be considered for anything else but heart rate and time tracking.

How am I supposed to have WiFi in range if I start running a long way from home? Am I now supposed take my phone iwth me and use it as a hotspot? If I do, I will dump the watch and simply use my phone for tracking as it hsa ANT+ as well.

Szadzik,
assist data dont need to be downloaded through Wi-Fi right before your workout as they are stored in the watch.
thanks

So you say it is best to sync right before I go out running? Will that help keep GPS locked? Currently I get 7-8 satelites and when I start running I go down to 4-6, even though, there are not tall buildings around, I run in a park.

6-7-8 satellites locked are good and once locked, the fact that you start running should not degrade the performance of the GPS. What else can you tell us about what happens in between the two readings?
thanks

I have seen it go down and then of course the track gets jittery. Tried syncing before each run and so far it seems a bit better.
