STICKY: Read First

We are working on upgrading our GPS firmware to deliver a more accurate GPS tracking.
Currently we have quite a sensitive GPS receiver: this means that if the GPS satellite locking is not optimal, the GPS will track position points with a certain level of inaccuracy.
The workout tracking on the map shows some wavering and subsequently the distance logged is longer.
To increase the GPS accuracy, please make sure you follow the procedure explained with the Topic “Time to first fix”.

This is not much help, unfortunately: When I try to read the "time to first fix" post, I am confronted with a password query.

What's the password for the first fix, then? :)

Yes, I have access now.

I will go try turning the bottom of the screen towards the sky while being in range of my wifi and standing perfectly still (on one leg :D)

-However, I am still interested in any news on when you expect a software fix for the accuracy issue will arrive.

I am very eager to start using my Leikr "for real".

:)

Thanks in advance!

you can put both legs to the ground :)
and no need to stay in the range of the Wi-Fi: as long as you have been in it recently you would have fresh data anyway....

We will announce any new Software updates directly with a mail and also here: hopefully the next big one pretty soon.

thanks
Cris

GPS accuracy is not as good as it used to be before the latest update.

The difference between my Garmin and my Leikr is now 300m during a 10Km run. If I look at the map of my run on endomondo my track is almost all the time off the street. When I'm in a forrest it gets even worse.

I agree with Juergie - GPS accuracy is now all over the shop. I did two runs on the weekend:

* Saturday was an orienteering course in an intricate school campus. The Leikr wandered extensively, backtracked at random, went places I know I didn't and added about 1.5km to a 3.5km course. GPS trace was completely unusable. http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/215497192/10436887
* Sunday's long run recorded about 1.5km (10%) extra over my 910xt. I noticed in particular that when standing still the Leikr would continue adding significant distance as it danced around where I was standing - at once point it added 400m without me taking a step! http://www.endomondo.com/workouts/215916176/10436887

mine rest is worst.

I have a difference of almost 1km over a 5km run. Will post the route later.

I'm a bit underwhelmed about the accuracy of the GPS. This week, I walked home all evening (~9.4km, 1h30)

On Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, I took the exact same route.

With RunKeeper running on my iPhone (phone being in my pants pocket, wifi disabled):
Tuesday: http://runkeeper.com/user/mat813/activity/380306128
Friday: http://runkeeper.com/user/mat813/activity/382258607

With the Leikr on my wrist:
Thurday: http://runkeeper.com/user/mat813/activity/382281042

There's almost a 20% difference, anything I could do to help getting the accuracy up ?
