Stuck in maintenance?

Postby huulbaek » Mon Jul 28, 2014 7:01 pm

My watch is stuck in a mode with a square in each corner and the Leikr logo in the middle. Reboot does nothing. This has happened to me before (a couple of weeks ago) where I did a complete factory reset. But I would rather not do that now, since I have several workouts not uploaded.

What to do?

It seems to happen when I connect the Leikr to the computer and let it sit there for a while.

Just happened to me, too.

Watch seems to be bricked 'Cancelling Maintenance'.

I have contacted Leikrteam.

But... how about providing a protocol to recover from this, here, so that we don't have to treat this as a one-off every time?

Dear Dfreymann,
you have a good point nad I believe many are wondering about the same.
The reason why we want to handle corruption one by one is that we want to collect feedback on the watch configuration and pull statistics.
thanks

I was able to provide Leikr some info about my software version. They responded with:

It sounds like your watch is now working again?
If so, please let us know if you have other issues.
Thanks for the suggestion on how to label info in the software, we see your point.
Thanks!
The Leikr Team

OK. No 'fix' provided there, and no information for how to deal with this if it ever happens again. And the only way I was able to see the information I provided was to allow the battery run out, and starting to recharge the watch. Then I was able to get to the settings screen.

So, I left the watch plugged in overnight....

Guess what the screen is telling me right now?

“Maintenance / Scanning fucking disk”

“0% and not going nowhere”

“Cancel, as if that would do anything!”

“Leikr, glorious wings of Leikr"

Those are the only messages on the screen.

This is to be my Leikrlife, it seems.

My watch is stuck with in the Logo screen. I can reboot it, but when it comes back on, stuck again with the Logo. Any ideas? Thanks!

Dear all,
as said, we would like to draw some stats on the issues we need to fix, therefore we would like to have those issues which are preventing the watch from working normally to be reported one by one.
We understand that this could be a bit frustrating but it is extremely important for our troubleshooting.
I guess that most of you in this thread have already written to leikrteam@acornprojects.dk and got a reply and a solution.
Please bear with us if sometime it takes a few days before getting back to you.
We are looking at how to improve our support with a new tool.

thanks
